Pinckneyville Community Hospital Receives RHC and PCMH Accreditations

February 2020, Spring House, Pennsylvania – Pinckneyville Community Hospital, of Pinckneyville, Illinois, recently achieved Rural Health Clinic (RHC) Exemplary Provider^® accredited status as well as Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) accreditation by The Compliance Team, Inc., the nationally recognized independent healthcare accreditation organization based in suburban Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Both RHC and PCMH are measured continuous quality improvement programs that incorporate patient-centered practice guidelines into day-to-day activities.

There are approximately 4,100 RHCs nationwide. As an accredited Rural Health Clinic, Pinckneyville demonstrates outstanding patient care practices and adherence to The Compliance Team’s comprehensive Safety-Honesty-Caring® quality standards. The accreditation process is a comprehensive program in which rural health clinics demonstrate 100% compliance to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ (CMS) rigorous Conditions for Certification dealing with patient services, infection control, diagnostic tests and pharmaceutical services. The RHC accreditation is valid for three years.

PCMH accreditation takes Pinckneyville’s services to the next level. The PCMH program focuses on the patient and ensures that all medical personnel are practicing at the top of their licenses. Under the PCMH program, patients have greater access to their care teams, and patients are fully educated on their diagnosis and plan of care. This makes for a better environment for patients as well as for the providers, who typically express a higher level of job satisfaction because they can be more pro-active meeting their patients’ needs.
